2010 Updated rules Long Lake Vintage Racing

General Rules for ALL classes:

(Please read these rules and understand them before you sign up.)

 

1.                  Tech inspections are mandatory at every race pre-tech and post -tech.

2.                  You must have a working tether cord.

3.                  Carbides of any length and 3/8 inch on studs or stars.(If you run cleats they must be steel) no aluminum or titanium.

4.                  You must wear a full face helmet.

5.                  Snow flap must touch snow/ice when on sled.

6.                  Tech may remove any sled that is unsafe at any time.

7.                  Flack jacket and knee protection are recommended.

8.                  Clutches must have guards.

9.                  If you are in the top 3 in a final, you can and will be torn down for the techs.  Any tear down REFUSALS will be disqualified and lose all points for the season.  If you give tech or track officials any problems with any thing, you will be suspended from these races.

10.              YOU MUST HAVE FUN.  NO WHINING! Especially about free prizes!!!

11.              We have the right to change the rules at any time.

12.               If it is a fan cooled class you must run a fan and recoil.

13.              You may run Race fuel or E- 85

14.              You will have to choose to run one or the other classes= Trophy or Pro stock. (Hr and Hd) You may not run both!

 

Classes 1 through 4 are for MONEY .TROPHY Classes, 5 through 12, trophy only.

 

 

1.                  1973 and older HR Pro Stock (No sachs 340 ss, c, or hirth 194r allowed in hr class)

2.                  1973 and older HD Pro stock

3.                  1980 and older Air cooled MOD Single

4.                  1980 and older Open MOD free air

5.         1980 and older LIQUID MOD

6.         1980 and older FA Open MOD- NEWEST CLASS (see rules/ or Pete with any questions)

9.                 Youth

Classes 6 through 12 must run STOCK machines.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

HR Pro Stock CLASS

1973 AND OLDER

~ Money Class~

 

Must be a production line model, fan cooled, single cylinder snowmobile that was manufactured in 1973 or before.

 

Drivers:

 

Must agree to all decisions made by officials, uncontested!!!  ( No cry babies allowed!)

 

NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.

 

Must have a working tether cord and USE it.

 

Must wear a helmet and eye protection.

 

Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)

 

 

Engines:

 

Engines must remain stock, no grinding, porting, sandblasting, shaving on anything.   Stock pistons or stock replacement, no cutting skirts.

(this will be checked)

 

Max overbore of 0.060”

 

These engines NOT ALLOWED in this class; sachs 340ss,c, hirth 194r.

 

Carb must be original or other diaphragm carb with 2 1\4 inch bolt pattern..

 

Primary Clutch stock 1976 and older or 94 c dusters allowed.

 

Exhaust and muffler must be stock or stock replacement.  No tuners!

 

Engine must have a point style ignition. (no cdi)

 

Tear down will happen if techs decide to do so.  Drivers may also put up $200.00 to have someone torn down if you have reason to believe that they are illegal.  If they ARE illegal, you will get your money back.  If they are LEGAL you will give them the $200.00 for the hassle.

 

 

 

 

Chassis:

 

1973 and older may be a twin chassis if it is the same as the single chassis. No jackshaft chassis.

 

Skis must be original or stock replacement.  NO Aluminum!  Spreaders are allowed.  You CAN run carbides.

 

Fuel tanks should be original or same size.

 

You must run a hood.

 

NUMBERS must be 8” AND visible on BOTH sides.  (Should be black and white)

 

Suspension and track may be 1976 and older stock production and can be reinforced. You can also run 1976 and older chain cases in this class. No sno pro suspensions.

Must agree to all decisions made by officials, uncontested!!!  ( No cry babies allowed!)

 

NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.

 

Must have a working tether cord and USE it.

 

Must wear a helmet and eye protection.

 

Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)

 

 

Engines:

 

Engines must have a 1980 and older snowmobile bottom end

 

Carb may be any make and size.

 

Reeds allowed

 

Any clutch is allowed.

 

     Any exhaust allowed.

 

 

 

Chassis:

 

Any 1980 and older chassis.  (NO Sno Pros) (No Jackshafts)

 

Skis of any type are allowed.  You MUST have leaf springs.

 

Fuel tanks may be any size.

 

You must run a hood.

        Must be a 1980 or older snowmobile (can run jackshaft) new class for 2010 (no liquids)

1980 & Older Open MOD Free Air multi cylinder Class

~Money Class~

 

 

Must be a snowmobile that was manufactured in 1980 or before.

 

Drivers:

NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.

 

Must have a working tether cord and USE it.

 

Must wear a helmet and eye protection.

Must be LOUD and FAST and can be single, twin triple or four cylinder!!

Any Ignition.


Single cylinders may be LIQUID COOLED.

 

 

Chassis:

 

1980 and older leaf spring chassis.

 

Skis- any

 

Fuel tanks may be any size.

 

You must run a hood.

Must be a  snowmobile that was manufactured in 1980 or before.

Must agree to all decisions made by officials, uncontested!!!  ( No cry babies allowed!)

 

NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.

 

Must have a working tether cord and USE it.

 

Must wear a helmet and eye protection.

 

Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)

 

 

Engines:

 

Must be LOUD and FAST and can be single, twin triple or four cylinder!!

 

Any year engine Liquid Cooled/ Free Air may jump into this class

 

Any Clutch

 

Any Exhaust

 

Any Ignition.

 

 

Chassis:

(If rules do not specifically allow a change or modification, it then must be assumed that the change in NOT allowed.

 

Must be a production line model, fan cooled, single cylinder snowmobile that was manufactured in 1970 or before.

 

Arctic Cat- (no jackshafts) Panther Chassis Only.

 

No performance options or kits.

 

Drivers:

 

Must agree to all decisions made by officials, uncontested!!!  ( No cry babies allowed!)

 

NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.

 

Must have a working tether cord and USE it.

 

Must wear a helmet and eye protection.

 

Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)

 

 

Engines:

 

Engines must remain stock, no grinding, porting, shaving on anything.   Stock pistons or stock replacement, no cutting skirts.

(will be checked)

 

Max overbore of 0.060”

 

Must have been offered stock with the HR carb.

 

Carb must be original or other diaphragm carb 33 mm maximum bore.

 

No decreasing of any rotating mass.

 

Clutch may be replaced with; Comet 94 C Duster or Power Black.

 

Exhaust and muffler must be stock or stock replacement.  No tuners!

 

Engine must have a point style ignition. (no cdi)

 

Tear down will happen if techs decide to do so.  Drivers may also put up $200.00 to have someone torn down if you have reason to believe that they are illegal.  If they ARE illegal, you will get your money back.  If they are LEGAL you will give them the $200.00 for the hassle.

 

 

 

 

Chassis:

 

1970 and older may be a twin chassis if it is the same as the single chassis.

 

Skis must be original or stock replacement.  NO Aluminum!  Spreader are allowed.  You CAN run carbides.

 

Skis- no ski skins

 

Fuel tanks should be original or same size.

 

You must run a hood.

 

NUMBERS must be 8” AND visible on BOTH sides.  (Should be black and white)

 

Suspension must all be original but can be reinforced.

 

Snow flap must touch ice/snow with rider on machine.

 

Track:

 

Studs should measure 3/8” about highest point of your track or close to it.

 

Cleated tracks must remain cleated if that is the way it was manufactured and vice-versa.

 

Any seat may be used and any handle bars.

 

You can change clutching springs, weights and gear ratios.

 

 


TWIN CLASS (0-440)

~Trophy Only Class~

 

Must be a production line model, fan cooled, twin cylinder snowmobile that was manufactured in 1973 or before.  No limited production models.  (No single cylinders allowed in this class)

 

Drivers:

 

Must agree to all decisions made by officials, uncontested!!!  ( No cry babies allowed!)

 

NO drug or alcohol use before or during races.

 

Must have a working tether cord and USE it.

 

Must wear a helmet and eye protection.

 

Your brakes must be in WORKING condition.  (will be checked)

 

 

Engines:

 

Engines must remain stock, no grinding, porting, shaving on anything.   Stock pistons or stock replacement, no cutting skirts.

(will be checked)

 

Max overbore of 0.060”

 

Single carbs only (no twin carbs allowed)

 

Carb must be original or other diaphragm carb with 2 15/16 inch bolt pattern or smaller.

 

Primary Clutch stock 1976 or older or 94 c dusters allowed.

 

Exhaust and muffler must be stock or stock replacement.  No tuners!

 

Engine must have a point style ignition. (no cdi)
